Panaji: Goa's award winning filmmaker Laxmikant Shetgaonkar would be felicitated by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during their annual 'India-The Big Picture' conference to be held on the sidelines of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2009.
The one-day-long conference will be held on November 24 which will be inaugurated by Goa chief minister Digamber Kamat.
A CII spokesman said that Biren Ghose general manager, Paprikaas-Techicolour will chair the conference which will have special address by Manmohan Shetty president, The Film & Television Producers Guild of India Limited and Bobby Bedi, MD, Kaleidoscope Entertainment & member of jury for IFFI, Goa.
The inaugural address will be delivered by Goa chief minister Digamber Kamat.
Laxmikant, a Goan filmmaker, has recently won accolades for Toronto Film Festival for his film Paltodcho Munis (Man beyond the bridge). He won prize of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI prize) for new discovery.
Shetgaonkar's film which was selected during the film bazaar last year is produced by National Film Development Corporation.
