Film debut was scary: Rihanna

Rihanna, who has sold over 60 million records, has confessed that working on her first movie was “scary” and “nerve-wracking”.

The singer makes her acting debut in soon-to-be-released sci-fi adventure Battleship that also stars Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker.

The chart-topping star said that she was nervous in the months leading up to the shoot which got worse when she arrived on set on the first day, Sky News reported.

She was “blown away” with the scale of the production, saying that it was just “huge, with so many people and cameras”.

“You get really nervous,” she said.

“It was scary, it’s a world I have never been a part of,” she added.

The pop star dons the role of a US marine in the film, which is loosely based on the board game of the same name.

Known for her flamboyant outfits on stage, the 24-year-old revealed that she loved coming to work daily and did not think about what she was wearing.

She insisted that she would wear a uniform every day if she could.

The film is directed by Peter Berg, who pointed out that a number of pop stars have made the transition from music to film and cited Whitney Houston as one of the best examples.

However, Rihanna maintained that she loves music too much to give it up completely for acting.
