Mumbai: International film critic Irene Bignardi believes that Bollywood has eclipsed the Indian regional film industry where a lot of "good work" is being done.

"Indian film industry world over is generally represented by Bollywood. However, a lot of good work is being done in the regional film industry here. Many good movies are being made in Kerala, Chennai. Their tales also need to be highlighted," Irene, who is here as a jury member for Mumbai Film Festival, told PTI.

The former chief of Locarno International Film Festival also appreciated the selection of movies at the festival.

"The movies are very interesting. And the response too from the audience has been good. A lot of people come for the screenings," she said.

Apart from judging the films, Irene also wants to watch Bollywood director Ashutosh Gowariker's movies.

"Earlier I had watched his Lagaan. I had liked it. Now I would like to watch his other (latest) movies. I wish him good luck," she added.
