Education and I are inseparable: Actress Parvathi Menon

Considering that she’s got many awards and has acted opposite top heroes across three film industries, actress Parvathi Menon’s call sheet should ideally be the busiest.

But this actress gives her studies greater importance and hence, there’s a big break between the films that she takes on. “I like acting. I always opt for films that give me good scope for performance. But I’m equally dedicated to my studies,” says Parvathi.

And she points out how this is kind of apparent from the films she’s signed on. “What’s really ironic are the titles of some of the Malayalam films that I’ve signed on — they all have allusions to education. I’d first done a film called Notebook. Then, there was a film called Out Of Syllabus. Now, I have a film called Masters. The coincidence is that I’m pursuing my masters in English Literature. You could say that education and I are inseparable,” exclaims Parvathi.

Parvathi, who’d last appeared on Kannada screens in Prithvi, opposite Puneet Rajkumar, is now gearing up for her next project. “I have an untitled film opposite Shivarajkumar, which will be directed by Phaneesh. The film is scheduled to start either towards the end of this year or early next year. The script is what, again, won me over. Plus, it has been a long gap before I signed another film,” says Parvathi.

Coincidentally, this might be her shortest gap between two films, with a minimum of six to eight month breaks between films. “I am currently wrapping up work for Masters, which is an action thriller being directed by Johnny Anthony. This is a multi-starrer and has a very exciting plot line. No sooner than I’m done with that, I will have to start shooting for my Kannada film,” ends Parvathi.
