Easter is Fun, frolic and fantastic family time: Aviva Bidapa

Easter is a great holiday and a wonderful festival. It’s loads of fun and to me it’s kind of defined by chocolates and several other such yummy treats — that I always look forward to. I can’t imagine an Easter without Easter eggs and how the family always gets together on at least this one day of the year.

When I was much younger, I remember my grandma bringing us confectionary eggs and we could just never have enough of them. My brother of course, would ensure that he stole most of mine and I would just have to sit there and be bullied; being the younger sister… it made me angry then, but is a much-remembered fond memory now.

We used to go to church or a friends place and play elaborate treasure hunts where the treasure was always a load of Easter eggs — such amazing fun!

With growing up and becoming a busy young lady, I am now preoccupied with far too many responsibilities and so even though, every inch of me yearns to be that kid again, Easter has changed into a holiday for the family. It’s one of those awesome Sundays, always with pleasant weather, when you can finally find time to laze around and spend some relaxed time with your family and friends.

Mom is always the centre of our Easter plans and so is grandma, but what I love the most is how my dad (Prasad Bidapa) is always part of the holiday and ensures that he takes part in the celebrations. He loves the concept and believe me, he’s the only one who ensures we always have a steady supply of Easter eggs — every single year!
