Model-turned actress Dipannita Sharma has now turned entrepreneur. Sharma has delved into the unique business of renting out yachts for private parties or a lazy afternoon in the sea and says that she couldn’t be more happy with the response her venture has received.
Ask her if turning business woman was a conscious decision and Sharma answers in the negative. “My only connect to business is that my husband is a businessman. And I think that I was able to pull this off only because of his encouragement,” says Sharma.
The model says that her new venture is also to blame for hectic schedules of late. “The entire responsibility was on me. And the toughest part was that since the yacht business is not so popular in the city, I didn’t have any reference points to help me,” says Sharma who was happy just taking occasional advice from her husband when her business was in its initial stage. Talking about the response, Dipannita says that she was overwhelmed to see most of her friends turn up at the launch party of her yacht.
“My yacht’s being flashed on several blogs and the word-of-mouth response is helping build a lot of goodwill. In fact, I was surprised to see so many people I hadn’t met up for a very long time, turn up to wish me on the day of the launch. I was happy to know that I was surrounded with such a lot of goodwill. It really goes a long way,” she says. Apart from her yacht venture, Sharma is also busy shooting for a film, after a long gap. Though she says that she can’t divulge more about it at this stage, she does reveal the name of the film. “It’s called Ladies versus Ricky Bahl and it’s by a very reputed banner which toplines actors Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma of Band Baaja Baarat fame.
