Stepping aside from the usual norm of vying for a ‘Universal’ (U) certificate, director Dibakar Banerjee will apply for a ‘strictly for adults’ tags for his forthcoming film, Love Sex Aur Dhoka. The move, sources say, will save the film from getting unnecessarily delayed because of its theme of voyeurism.

Says the director, “I don’t want children to see my film because some of the scenes might shock them. There are several ways of showing sex and I have used all those techniques to show sex on my film. So, it’s not nudity that I portray. I am also portraying how you can show sex even without nudity. And yes, the stuff is definitely not for children or even for young adults.”

Dibakar distances himself from the recent controversy of calling some newcomers at the Balaji Telefims office and asking them to kiss and feel one another on the pretext of an audition. The snapshots of the ‘auditions’ were leaked to the media and it earned Balaji Telefilms a notice from the Information and Broadcasting ministry.

“I have nothing to do with that. That was a different thing that Ekta (Kapoor) was doing and Ekta has clarified that too. That was for some other project of hers,” he says. When the voices are becoming louder that Dibakar is taking the age-old method of selling sex, the director surprisingly doesn’t choose to differ.

“I am of course selling sex. That is my film’s USP and I am in no way ashamed of that. The concept of my film is to catch the sex life of Indians and it is, trust me, way different from any other race. I know what I am doing,” he signs off.
