SharePanaji: Rahul Bose, who is more known for his roles in parallel cinema, said that he will like to stay away from commercial films as they are 'repetitive and boring'.
"Commercial cinema is completely boring to do. Occassionally, I may do them just to change my taste," the actor, who isdown in International Film Festival of India (IFFI) with his Bengali film Antaheen, told PTI.
Bose who is now busy with four more projects, all art films, which are scheduled to be launched next year, said that he is acting in Bengali commercial flicks, is also a grim possibility.
Aparna Sen's Mr and Mrs Iyer could have been a good commercial film, if you had to add some songs to it. "Like getting down from the train... singing a song and getting back and one more song in the bus. But it depends on how filmmakers' sensibilities are," he added.
Bose, who has played a role of a IPS officer in Bengali film Antaheen, said that he would like to do one action film. "But that's all. If I am offered another action film, I won't be doing it," he said. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury directed Antaheen film although belongs to non-commercial genre ran for 15 weeks in Bengal and it was also released in Mumbai where it evoked a good response too, Bose said.
"It has no commercial element in it but there is an emotion resonance in the film that everybody can understand, Bose said.
It was shown in the New York for the film festival and the hall was packed, everybody understood it. It's very acceptable, urban, good looking and very well shot film," he commented.
Bose said that the films like Aparna Sen's Japanese Wife, You are Fired, Kuchch Love Jaisa and Onir's I am are in pipeline to be released next year.
