Mumbai: Actor Arshad Warsi, best known for his role as 'Circuit' in the films Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho, Munnabhai, says he is open to experimenting with serious roles.

Actor Arshad Warsi, best known for his "Circuit" role in Munnabhai MBBS, says that he is open to experiment with serious roles.

"Audiences appreciate only good performances and I have no apprehensions whether or not they would accept me in a different avatar," Warsi said.

He said he would not like to do a serious character just for a sake of it. "There should be a good story and script so that justice can be done to the character," he said.

Warsi said he had tried to give a different touch to all the comedy characters he had portrayed so far. "You will not find any element of Circuit in my characters in Golmal, Dhamal, or the soon-to-be-released Shortkut," he said.

Speaking about Shortkut, which is scheduled to be released on July 10, Warsi said he plays a negative role in in the film.

"I am the meanest person in the film. He does not care about others and is interested only in becoming a big star even though he can't act. I am a bad man but play the character in such a funny way that audiences will not hate me," he said.

Warsi denied that he had any problem with co-star Akshaye Khanna during the making of the film. "I know Akshaye very well and we have worked together earlier. This rumour is rubbish," he said.

He said he was looking forward to playing Circuit again with Munnabhai Chale Amrika going on the floors in mid-2010.

Asked whether he was annoyed with Rohit Shetty for giving him a raw deal in Golmal Returns, Warsi said, "People who watched the film complained that I was nowhere to be seen in it. I have no issues with Rohit Shetty on this matter."

Asked why he is not part of Shetty's upcoming project, All The Best, Arshad said, "I can't be in all his films. There was no role for me in it."

Apart from Shortkut, Warsi's upcoming films are Ishkiyan and Kaun Bola.
