Charity begins at home for Asin

Whatever her charitable activities are, actress Asin and her family maintain that they would rather be quiet about it.

Asin had previously initiated an eye check-up camp in strife-torn Sri Lanka and also runs a school for the under-privileged in India.

“Asin has never really spoken about her charitable activities because she believes that these things are not an ideal way to grab headlines. So, even if she is doing something for the poor, she feels that she would rather not talk about it,” says her father Joseph Thottumkal.

According to Joseph, Asin does believe in charity and turns to lend support to several organisations from time to time.

“She believes in doing something for the poor and we are happy that she thinks that way. She has our full support. But we are happy about the fact that she chooses not to talk about it. It’s a value that she treasures,” her father adds.

Asin has reportedly ear-marked a small portion of her income towards charitable causes, which is regularly sent towards the institutions that she backs.

Meanwhile, even though the actress has prepared a lot for her swimsuit scene in the next installment of Housefull, if sources are to be believed then Asin doesn’t want to do a steamy scene in a movie just as yet.

“The swimsuit scene in Housefull was a much deliberated effort and it was talked out with her. She thought about it and then agreed. But there was much deliberation over the steamy scenes in the movie. Though no one knows how the movie will finally shape up, but Asin doesn’t want to do extremely steamy scenes at the moment,” says a source.

The same principle is reflected in another of her forthcoming film, Ready, with Salman Khan which is currently being shot. “There are no steamy scenes between Asin and Salman. Both of them were clear about the fact that the script doesn’t allow that. And both agreed that incorporating a steamy scene is quite pointless if the script didn’t require one,” the source adds.
