Veteran Hindi film star Shashi Kapoor, 72, is alive and in critical condition in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital at Andheri in Mumbai.
An earlier report had claimed that the star of films like Jab Jab Phool Khile, Deewar and Junoon had passed away.
But a spokesperson for the hospital confirmed that Kapoor was alive.
Correction, January 26, 2010: Kashmir Ki Kali was erroneously mentioned as one of Shashi Kapoor's films. His older brother Shammi Kapoor starred in that film.
