Mumbai: Four of filmdom's hotties -- Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza, Sameera Reddy and Koena Mitra -- are campaigning against anti-noise pollution this Diwali. And they aren't averse to making a big noise about the cause. They've exhorted their fans on social networking sites and are asking family, relatives, neighbours and even industry colleagues to join in the movement to cut down on high decibel crackers.

The most active of them all is Priyanka who has made an impassioned plea on Twitter. "Diwali for me is about coming together to celebrate with your family and friends. It's a time to light diyas, colour the floor with rangoli, eat lots of mithai and just have a great time. I'm an advocate of an environment-friendly Diwali. I agree Diwali is also about fireworks, just consider their after-effects such as noise and pollution. Have a happy and safe Diwali," wrote Priyanka.

Meanwhile Dia says it's up to us as individuals to say no to firecrackers because no one likes to be stopped by others from doing something. "I just don't buy firecrackers myself. I believe if each one of us says no to noise, it will truly make a big difference. All good things start with 'I'," she maintains.

Koena and Sameera are also rooting for an eco-friendly Diwali. "Here's wishing everyone prosperity and longevity. This festival is all about affection, a celebration of lights, so spread happiness. Avoid noise pollution. Go green," writes Koena. "Who said we need noise to celebrate? This year say no to noise, no to firecrackers and celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali," is Sameera's message.
