Bollywood calling, Shawn Mims

Hip hop star Shawn Mims, who has been in India for a tour, wants to give Bollywood a shot if he gets an offer. “Bollywood music has influenced Indian culture to a large extent. I am interested in exploring it,” says Mims.

Mims who has collaborated with Snoop Dog recently, is clued into the latter’s foray into Bollywood with Akshay Kumar-track Singh Is King and is keen to do some Bollywood tracks himself. “I would do Bollywood in a heartbeat!”

The singer who has just been featured in the record Patron Y Brugal by Latin singer William Haze, says that it’s the energy in his music that the Asian crowd would fall for. “When I perform, the energy levels are really high,” he says.

Shawn, who first featured on the song Love Em All by the Canadian group Baby Blue Sound Crew, is open to collaborations with Indian artistes too. “I haven’t really heard much of Indian music apart from some Bollywood tracks.” Mims has also been high on Indian food throughout his trip. “I love spicy Indian food. I have been hogging it,” he says.
