Actor Bobby Deol will be playing the role of a con man in his upcoming film Players, but it seems like the year 2012 will see Bobby playing not just on screen, but off it too. As the actor is the latest one to join the Mumbai Heroes cricket team, owned by good friend and actor Sohail Khan. The actor will soon start practicing for the forthcoming season along with actors who are already played the first season – Suniel Shetty, Sohail, Riteish Deshmukh and others.
If insiders are to believed, Bobby has been roped in the team for his bowling skills. An insider says, “Although Bobby is good with the bat, it's his swingers that impressedSuniel and Sohail enough to bring him to their team. Suniel being the captain of the team is instrumental in getting players from Bollywood to build a good cricket team too.” The final line up of players includes actors like SunielSohail , Riteish, Bobby, Aftab Shivdasani, Sonu Sood,Shabbir Ahluwalia,Angad Bedi, Raja Bherwani, Sunny Dulgach, Sachin Joshi, Varun Badola, Apoorva Lakhia Kabir Sadanand, Tushar Jalota, Ashish Chowdhury, Vatsal Sheth, Sharad Kelkar and Varun Rao.
However not many are aware that Bobby had always been interested in the sport since childhood. “Bobby's love for the game is well known in B-Town. He used to play cricket almost everyday with his gang of friends as a teenager. Bobby indulges in the game with his friends even today, as and when time permits. So when he was asked to join the Mumbai team, he immediately agreed. Not surprisingly, the actor has also started practicing with his team mates in the suburbs. Bobby is a good bet to spearhead the bowling attack. And the bonus is he can be a solid batsman to hold the middle order if the going gets tough,” said the source.
