Bipasha Basu to turn producer!

Actress Bipasha Basu has revealed that she may soon turn producer, joining several of her contemporaries who’ve already turned to production. For now, the Bong hottie is busy with her films Players and Jodi-Breakers and is awaiting the release of her first Hollywood film Singularity, but said that she’s looking at launching her own production house soon after.

“Yes, the plans are on. It’s something that’s been on my mind for quite some time now, but I just haven’t had the time to sit down and concretise the plans,” she confirmed when asked about her turning producer.

For now, though the actress will seen be doing much action in her forthcoming film that also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor, she adds that hand-to-hand combat is the kind of action, she’d love to do.

“I’d love to do a film like Million Dollar Baby,” she says. So how about producing a remake here or something on the lines of it? “Well, it’s too early to comment on what my first project will be, but yes, it’s a film I’d like to consider,” says Bips.

Though she refuses to divulge any details about when exactly the launch of her production house will happen, insiders say that she may set the ball rolling with a romantic comedy.

“It’s a genre that’s really close to her heart, though as an actor it’s only of late that she’s doing her first romcom. So, in all probability that’s a genre that she’s most likely to kickstart her production house with,” says a source.
