Bipasha Basu is terribly angry these days. The actress hates the fact that everybody refers to her as ‘sexy’ or ‘sensuous’ and there is hardly a line written about her acting skills.
“No matter how heroine-oriented my roles are, everyone just sees the glamour," she lamented on her Twitter account. "After all that effort, all that people see is that I look hot and sexy.”
Her close aides say she is particularly irked over incidents over the past few months in which she reportedly had to face catcalls from a section of the audience at a few public functions.
“She had chosen to walk out from an event at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse because a section of the audience had behaved in an objectionable way. She was not happy about it at all,” said a source who was there at the venue.
Basu faced a similar incident a few days ago when the audience was screaming her name and most wanted to shake her hand. She, her friends say, gets really worked up when she hears the word ‘sexy’ at a public function.
“Bipasha has done so many women-oriented roles and she wants her fans to remember those movies, too, along with her sensuous avatar. But somehowpeople only choose to emphasise on her ‘sexy’ avatar. As an actress, she hates it,” the source said.
But it seems the actress has decided to move on and not pay heed to the ‘crowd’. As she herself tweeted, “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”
