Bappa is my best friend: Divya Dutta

Actress Divya Dutta may be busy with as many as three films on the floor, but she reveals that everything takes a backseat when it comes to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi.

The actress, whose birthday this year co-incided with the visarjan of the seven day Ganpati yesterday, shares that being a Ganesh bhakt the co-incidence made her day even more special, even though it makes you sad to bid him adieu.

And as she visited the DNA eco Ganesha pandal to seek darshan of the beloved Bappa she talked about the need for such initiatives.

“I think it’s a great way to create awareness. Living close to the sea I am well aware of the harmful effects artificial and synthetic products have on the ecological system. And all that pollution can easily be avoided by using idols made of clay. Even I have sworn to use eco-friendly Ganpati idols at home now,” says Divya.

The actress also reveals that she has regular conversations with God. “Bappa is the best friend I could ever have,” she smiles, adding, “I talk to him about everything whether I am happy, sad or angry. He is my voice of reason and I always find myself at peace having spoken to him.” Though Divya says that she is not religious, she admits that praying does help. As for what she prayed to Bappa for this year, she elaborates that it’s always the same.

“I thank God for all that’s being given to me and only pray that I always have Him with me,” adds Divya.
