Bangalore votes for Kajol as yummiest mummy

This proved to be a complete surprise. Looks like Kajol’s charm from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham is still as fresh in the minds of Bangalore men. In the DNA survey conducted with over 100 men from across the city, Kajol emerged as India’s yummiest mummy, edging obvious suspects such as Malaika Arora Khan.

Most of the young men in Bangalore, it emerged, found women who’d prioritised their homes ahead of their careers yummier. While Kajol got 60% of the votes, Malaika got 10% as did Mehr Jessia-Rampal. Tamil superstar Jyothika surprisingly got 20% of the votes. While Twinkle Khanna got 6% and Gauri Khan got 4% votes in this poll conducted by After Hrs ahead of Mother’s Day.

“Kajol has a certain oomph that is unparalleled. What we get to see of her is this perfect mother and wife. She put that ahead of her career, when it was required. She respects her husband’s space and sentiments and even chose to refrain from meeting his detractors, even though some were her friends,” points out Nikhil Shah, a 22-year-old management student.

Entrepreneur Nealesh Dalal too vouches for the same. “She fits the mummy tag well. While she is glamorous, she still has a certain appeal that tugs your heart, which isn’t just about her sexiness,” he believes. Event organiser Zubair Ahmed says, “She’s classy, carries herself well and comes across as a genuine person.” While most people look at her as a ‘perfect package’, there were some who were more honest. “She’s still smoking hot. Look at her in the songs of My Name Is Khan, she still scorches the screen like she used to two decades back. Isn’t that proof enough?” says Rahul Nair, copywriter.

Coming a distant second in the poll is Jyothika. The similarities here again lie in the fact that she sacrificed her flourishing acting career for the sake of being a homemaker. “She may be a mother of two, but she is still as hot as ever. The proof lies in her new advertisement with Suriya. She stole the show as far as that advertisement was concerned,” says Ananth Bhat, a marketing executive.

Malaika, who would have been an obvious choice to top this poll, actually gathered just 10% of the votes. But, those that voted for her were still quite vehement with their support. “Look at the Munni song. She looks just as sexy as she did in Chaiyya Chaiyya that released over 10 years ago,” says Amrit Pathak, businessman. Star wives Mehr, Gauri and Twinkle didn’t find too many takers in this poll. But Bangalore’s verdict is clear, kudos Mrs Devgn!
