Arjun Rampal’s French red carpet debut at Cannes

Actor Arjun Rampal seemed visibly excited before leaving for his debut appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, as he spoke about wife Mehr accompanying him on his trip. The actor who was shooting for Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh in Panchmari, in the interiors of Madhya Pradesh had juggled his schedule to make an appearance at the French Riviera. Just before he left, he spoke to DNA about his trip and had said, “It is a big honour for me to represent my country at Cannes. I am going to be interacting with creative minds from across the globe and bridging the gap between Bollywood and world cinema.”

The actor, who left a couple of days earlier with wife Mehr, took a few days off from his shooting schedule to plan his trip. Though Arjun has been super busy juggling his work and his trip, he has kept his fans informed about the details of his trip. Just before he was leaving, he had tweeted, “Hello on route to Cannes tonight, super excited. A bit disoriented to be shuttling from Pachmari to the French Riviera. Lol”. The actor, who also missed good friend Karan Johar’s 40th birthday bash wished his friend on Twitter. He posted, “Happiest birthday dearest @kjohar25 greetings from the French riviera, lots of love always.”

Before Arjun’s debut appearance in Cannes, the actor indulged in a little bit of sightseeing and attended a couple of parties during his stay there. He also bumped into Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and though he didn’t want to seem star struck, wife Mehr coerced him into taking their autographs for his daughters. Arjun, who walked the red carpet on the final day at the closing ceremony of Cannes was dressed in a Rohit Bal outfit, something he decided last minute. “Mehr is wearing a Tarun Tahiliani outfit and Gudda (Rohit Bal) may design something for me,”  he had revealed earlier.  After his debut red carpet stint, he posted, “Finished the red carpet here at Cannes Mehr absolutely stunning. I wore Rohit Bal, will post pics later. Soooooo proud of my wife, she mesmerised the paparazzi on the red carpet here in Cannes. Lucky me.”
