Arjun Rampal comes clean on 'friction' with Shah Rukh Khan

Ever since the promos of his upcoming Diwali release have hit the screens, actor Arjun Rampal’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing. He has been flooded with texts and calls from curious well-wishers, congratulating him for his look in actor Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming superhero film.

Says an ecstatic Arjun, “The response has been phenomenal. People have liked my look. I am glad I haven’t disappointed anyone as there was so much anticipation about my look for the film. I was petrified initially, wondering if my look would be appreciated and accepted.  But it’s has been worth the wait.”

There were speculations that Arjun’s look in the film was revealed quite late as apparently there was trouble brewing between him and the film’s producer, actor Shah Rukh Khan. Quiz him about this, and he shoots  back, “People like to talk and speculate.  I don’t usually deny or confirm any of these ‘apparent’ fallouts, but these stories of my ‘look’ being revealed late were absolutely ridiculous.  Shah Rukh and I sit and laugh about these speculations; there is no point giving it any food for thought.”

 But has his equation with his buddy changed of late? “Why would it?” asks Arjun disapprovingly. “We have been in the industry long enough to know all the nonsense that gets written about. Those who speculate these things need to go see a shrink. We really have no time for all this.”

Veer the topic to the ‘bald’ look and a physique that he worked on for the film, and Arjun lights up. “I would work out two hours each day to get the look. It was difficult for Mehr to cook the same kind of food for months. And shaving my head was nightmarish for my kids as they could not play with my hair. It has been very tough, but it has been worth it.”

Arjun is also looking forward to hosting the F1 parties in Gurgaon. “I am super excited about it. I took Mehr to the circuits for the first time two days back and we are all fascinated. Lady Gaga is slated to perform on the closing day along with musician Edward Maya. It is going to be the biggest bash and I promise that everyone in my club on that night will have a good time.”
