It looks like all is not well between film-makers Rakesh Roshan and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Mehra has made an exit from Roshan’s forthcoming production Krrish 2.
The grapevine is buzzing with the news that the two apparently had a fall-out as Mehra got busy conceptualising and writing the three movies that he would direct, thereby not giving much importance to Roshan’s project. At the same time, Roshan too wasn’t sure if he should trust Mehra’s directorial skills with a superhero movie post the debacle of Delhi 6.
A source says, “Mehra is busy with three projects. The first movie is a modern take on the Mahabharata, the second one is based on a real-life story of an Indian athlete and the third is a period romance. He hardly has time for anything. But he was approached for Krrish 2 by Roshan and it seems he had given a nod to the project. Though Roshan had directed Koi…Mil Gaya and Krrish, he wanted someone else to direct this movie as he wanted to concentrate on only being the producer. But things went sour.”
The informer adds, “They had come to an understanding about Krrish 2 last year during Delhi 6’s release. But post its failure they did not have any more discussions about Krrish 2. In the meantime, Roshan stepped in as the director and began the pre-production work.”
Despite repeated attempts Mehra could not be contacted for a comment and Roshan chose to remain mum on the issue.
