Ajay Devgn to return to TV?

Actor Ajay Devgn’s already had two stints on TV, not including the appearances he’s made to promote his films that is. But insiders now reveal that the actor may be looking at his third stint and this time, for a complete season. The last outing on the small screen for Ajay was as a guest host on Emotional Atyachar and now buzz is that this time around he’s a hot contender for several shows including Dus Ka Dum.

While former host of the show Salman Khan had been pitching buddy Sanjay Dutt’s name, insiders reveal that Ajay too features topmost on the wish list of the channel heads. What’s more the show heads, insiders insist, that Ajay’s a safe bet as they are sure that by pitching the show to him they won’t irk Salman at all, as Ajay’s a good friend of the Dabangg star. “Not only Salman, Ajay’s a very good friend of Sanjay too. So, we are sure there’s going to be no bad blood between either of them. They are all unique, and equally wanted,” said another insider.

“The show heads were very keen for Salman to continue the next season too, but dates were becoming a huge issue. Now, they don’t want to wait further to start their next season, even if it means carrying on without Salman, as he’s too caught up for the next few months again,” says an insider, adding that the other choice is Ajay. “Like Salman, Ajay too is extremely spontaneous and witty. Also he comes with his own brand of humour, which is an added for a show like this, where the host is expected to interact with the audience.”

However, this is not the only show that’ll be chasing Ajay. Apparently, several other channels too are trying to rope in Devgn for their shows. But it might be a while, before Ajay actually manages to find time for TV, as his date diary seems to be choc-a-bloc until early next year.

Ajay, meanwhile is at present working on Bol Bachchan with Abhishek Bachchan and awaiting the release of his action thriller Tezz. This apart, say sources, he’s also trying hard to work on the script of his next directorial debut, which is likely to be an action thriller.
