Ajay Devgn at loggerheads, shows his muscle

Actor Ajay Devgn and producer Ratan Jain recently had a massive showdown over creative differences.

The fight took an ugly turn with Ajay apparently threatening to back out of the film they are doing together and not promote it.

The conflict apparently happened due to a difference of opinion over the duration and release of the trailer of their forthcoming film Tezz. Says a source, “They were having their usual discussion after seeing the final cut of the trailer. Ajay loved the trailer and was praising it. Ratan, who also liked the trailer, had some pointers related to the business side of the film.

“Ratan apparently wanted the trailer to be reduced from its original length of around 2.50 minutes to be able to release it in much bigger numbers across television. Ajay vehemently protested the change, saying that the trailer is brilliant, and that they shouldn’t tamper with it anymore. Both stood their ground. The fight turned for the worse, with each slugging it out verbally. But Ratan understood Ajay’s point and decided to stick to it.”

When contacted, Ratan denied the episode, “No, no, nothing happened. Who told you all this? We are absolutely fine, nothing of that sort happened. We co-ordinated from the beginning, and Ajay was informed of all the developments. He had some suggestions, which we incorporated and everything is fine now.”
On further probing he adds, “Yes, I wanted to change the duration of the trailer. My point of view was that for television we should reduce the trailer and then launch it. But Ajay really liked the trailer and he praised it a lot. He said that we shouldn’t change it, and that’s how it is. Everything is very much in sync.”

The movie is an action thriller by Priyadarshan, which has an ensemble cast of Mohanlal, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Kangana Ranaut, Sameera Reddy and Zayed Khan in it.
