Abhay Deol is all set for some hardcore action

Actor Abhay Deol, who has stuck to his unconventional roles in choice of films, will soon be seeing performing some hardcore action sequences. Abhay has signed filmmaker Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuha, a film which will have the conventional dishoom-dishoom kind of action Bollywood is known for. However, Abhay who is super-kicked about doing some intense action sequences is apparently not doing this film to follow his brother, Sunny and uncle Dharmendra’s footsteps, both of whom were known for their tough-guy, action image.

A source close to the actor reveals, “Abhay is not doing an action film because his family has been associated with that image in Bollywood. And neither is he working towards joining the bandwagon of action heroes in B-town. He has always wanted to work with Jha and loved the script of this film, something he thought he hadn’t done before. It has got nothing to do with his cousins or uncle.”

Meanwhile, besides his films, the Abhay has also been voicing his concern over coal industries lobbying to cut down forests for coal-mining. On a recent trip to the Mahan forest in Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh, the actor realised what a sorry state the forest was in. Talking about it he says, “I was shocked to see mounds of dirt. The lake was extremely polluted by the remnants of the coal mines. It was eye-opening for me because it was shocking to see so many trees being cut down. I do understand we need coal for energy, I have done research and realised that the coal power plants in our country aren’t very efficient. Technology has advanced to a great deal and I am sure that we can explore alternative methods as well.”
