Abhay Deol disappoints Preeti Desai

Actor Abhay Deol seems to have upset his girlfriend, actress Preeti Desai and that too for no fault of his own. Though sources insist that the two are still going strong, Desai was apparently a tad bit sad that her boyfriend couldn’t be with her to share some of the most important days of her life.

Says the source, “Abhay couldn’t make it for both the Mumbai and Delhi premieres of her Bollywood debut. He was shooting for the Hollywood flick Singularity, that also stars Bipasha Basu and Josh Hartnett. So him not being able to be by her side was not intentional, but Preeti was really hoping for his company then,” says the source.

The couple got a dose of typical Bollywood gossip recently when too much was made out of Desai’s on screen closeness with co-actor Sendhil Ramamurthy and the fact that she was rarely spotted in Abhay’s company in public, ever since her movie was announced. But giving an insight into the couple’s behaviour, the source says, “Both Abhay and Preeti are fiercely independent individuals. They are definitely not your quientessential romantic couple that insists on doing every thing under the sun together.

But Desai still takes Abhay’s advice seriously when it comes to picking films and the like.” And Deol apparently, like a dutiful boyfriend played a major role in helping his girl with tips on how to conduct herself during promotions, meeting the right people and the like, in the past few months. With such support, we’re sure Preeti won’t find it difficult to forgive her guy for missing out on both the premieres.
