Actor Aamir Ali, who is currently seen playing a cop in a small town police station, says that he is very happy with his decision to take up the part. He may even look like he has a natural flair for comedy, given the ease with which he pouts and makes funny faces on the show, but sources close to the actor say that Aamir, in fact, had been avoiding taking up a comedy all these years.
Yes, you heard right. The actor, who was previously seen in romantic dramas, was apparently of the opinion that people might not take him seriously if they see him in a comedy avatar. “But Bajrang Pandey of FIR was just too funny to let go off,” says the source. The show, which is on Sab TV, has apparently reinstated Aamir’s belief in his comic timing.
“Now his opinion on comedies has changed altogether. He feels that comedy is easy but at the same time it has tremendous scope for one to perform and show their acting abilities. In fact, Aamir keeps telling all his actor buddies that they must try their hand at comedy, at least once in their career as it makes you explore a lot of hidden emotions and expressions,” says the source who is in the know.
Aamir was last seen lifting the winning trophy for dance reality show Nacch Baliye, in which he shook a leg with his real life lady love Sanjeeda Sheikh. Post their win, it was only natural that the duo were approached to participate in a number of dance shows but Aamir apparently is being very selective. “He is more than just a dancer and Aamir is selective by nature. He’s participated in several stage shows, but for now, he is just happy goofing around as the rustic village cop,” says the source. So, is a comedy based reality show in the offing, Aamir?
