A violent headache

For a film that has been in the cans for quite a while thereby creating some anticipation, Ziddhi sadly has nothing to offer its audience. It’s script, very much like that old cliché, is old wine in an old bottle. It is unfortunate that Anantha Raju, who had ably directed Mast Majaa Maadi, has miserably failed to feel the pulse of the audience.

First, talking about performances, Prajwal Devaraj is far from being satisfactory.
If the actor wants to last  in Sandalwood, he really needs to do a rethink on the type of films he signs. This film has two heroines but they have no scope to showcase their acting skills. Aindrita Ray is lucky to have a dream song.
Aishwarya Nag doesn’t get even that! She is seen either arguing or shedding a few tears. Thilak as the villain  delivers.

Ziddhi is about Krishna (Prajwal Devaraj), the son of a music teacher (Srinivasa Murthy) from Theerthahalli. Krishna and Shree (Aishwarya Nag) are childhood friends. Krishna comes to Bangalore to pursue higher studies. Circumstances end up in Krishna making an enemy in Sudhir (Thilak), the son of a liquor baron.

Sahana (Aindrita Ray) who is the daughter of a police officer (Suchendra Prasad), and who is supposed to marry Sudhir, also falls in love with Krishna. Do Sudhir and his father leave everyone alone? No. Far from it. In fact, it ends up as a mindless action-fest. See this film to know who wins. Wait, on second thoughts, you’ll lose nothing if you skipped it.

Film: Ziddhi (Kannada)
Director: Anantha Raju
Cast: Prajwal Devaraj, Aindrita Ray, Aishwarya Nag, Thilak, Srinivasa Murthy, Suchendra Prasad, Yathiraj
Score: 45%
Verdict: Don’t bother
