Theatre director Rahul daCunha has completed 10 successful years of his play Class of ‘84. Rahul and his cast celebrated the play’s 10th anniversary at the  Leopold Cafe on Colaba Causeway. It’s a restaurant he’s been going to for the last 20 years at least, he says. “One can just hang there and watch the world go by,” he says about the place which is a regular haunt  for foreign tourists visiting the area.

“The chicken curry, chicken tikkas and naans they serve are out of this world,” he adds. Rahul says that his favourite time to visit Leopold’s though is the breakfast hour when he indulges himself in Parsi akuri (scrambled eggs) and chai.

“It’s five minutes from my home and office and I often drop in there after a workout.” His favourite memory of the place? “At the play’s 10th anniversary celebration the owner came over and took a photo which he said he would put up on the cafe wall.” So the next time you see Rahul and cast peering at you from the Leopold wall, you’ll know why.
