All those who witnessed one of the most brazen terror strikes in Mumbai will relive each and every moment of the three-day siege as Total Ten, a film based on last year's outrage is complete and ready for release in late December.

"Even though the trial of the dastardly attacks is underway, considering the sentiments of the families of those killed and injured, we are toying with the idea of hanging Kasab in the movie," Producer Hariom Sharma told PTI.

Though the scene of Kasab's hanging is ready, a final decision on incorporating it would most likely depend on the judgment of the on-going trial, Sharma said. "The shooting is over and the film set for release. The post-production work is going on. We would also plan out an extensive promotional campaign for our movie," he said.

The Rs2.5 crore film is based on media reports of the carnage and accounts of police officials, victims and others.

Produced by Hariom Sharma and Sugastam Kumar, co-produced by Sangeeta Jaywant and directed by Surender Suri under the banner of `Sapna Films Production', the movie shows 60-hour ordeal the city went through when ten terrorists attacked Mumbai.

"Beginning with the terrorists' landing in Mumbai by boat to their operations, encounter killing of top police officers, talks with Pakistani handlers and Kasab's capture, we have included every major incident," Sharma said. He added that Rajan Varma, who essayed the role of Kasab, acted brilliantly.

Varma, who earlier acted in `My Friend Ganesha', has several films like `Jai Maa Jagdambe', `Mumbai 118' and `Deewane Ne Haad Kar Di' lined up for release soon.

Other actors in the movie include Sudesh Berry who plays the role of Vijay Salaskar, Homi Wadia (Hemant Karkare), Ashok Kulkarni (Ashok Kamte) and Ashish Vidyarthi (Tukaram Ombale). The film also has a host of small-time actors playing Kasab's Pakistani handlers.

"As permission from the authorities was difficult to get, we put up the sets of Taj hotel and CST in Hyderabad and of Nariman House in Thane. The remaining shooting was done in Mumbai at the real locations and some at the film city," Sharma said.

Trying to cash in on November 26 terror attacks, some B-grade filmmakers had registered titles like 'Operation 5-Star Mumbai', 'Bird's Point of View: Taj Terror', '26/11-Mumbai Under Terror', 'Dahshat Ka Halla' and 'Shootout at Oberoi', but only a few projects kick off.

The mainstream filmmakers had stayed away after Ram Gopal Varma's Taj visit landed in controversy and led to the ouster of then Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that real-life incidents inspire filmmakers as the common man identifies with them.

Movies that have been made on real-life incidents include Anurag Kashyup's 'Black Friday' (2004), based on the 1993 serial blasts, Apoorva Lakhia's 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' (2007) on a 1991 underworld encounter, and Nishikant Kamat's 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' (2008) on the serial train blasts of July 7, 2006.
