13 unlucky for telly?

With actor Angad Bedi dropping out, the reality show still can’t find contestant number 13.

13 unlucky for telly?

Cricket legend Bishen Singh Bedi’s son Angad Bedi, lately in the news for anchoring a controversial love-expose reality-show on TV, will have to set aside his plans of joining Priyanka Chopra in Brazil for another reality show.

Last week, after frantic negotiations, Angad Bedi had been finalised as the 13th contestant on the show but producer Vashu Bhagnani is unwilling to let Angad go, thereby creating a panic-like situations among the channel bosses.

The number 13 is proving to be really unlucky for the show. Every name from Gerard Butler to Mayank Chang has been bandied as the 13th contestant. At the press announcement of the final list of contestants, Priyanka Chopra, while introducing 12 contestants, had announced that the 13th contestant would be someone ‘really special’.

Now finally when that ‘really special’ contestant was identified as Angad Bedi the young cricketer-anchor-actor finds his plans thwarted. Although the channel has already announced his name, Angad  feigns complete ignorance about his presence on the show.

Says Angad, “I’m in Delhi right now. So I don’t know what’s going on in Mumbai. Have they really announced my name for the show? I wonder why!  That is not happening. My dates are with Vashu Bhagnani’s film Faltu which I am currently shooting. I don’t think I can get away.”

Vashu Bhagnani who is in  Singapore  confirmed  that he had  to  stop Angad from going into the show. “It isn’t Angad’s fault. He was keen to go. But my schedule has already been delayed because of the rains. Now we shoot non-stop from 16 August till September 30. I could have accommodated if they wanted Angad for a day or two but they wanted him for 12 days.” says Vashu.
