Zee Cine Awards: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Paduone, Farhan Akhtar sweep honours for 'Chennai Express' & 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'

Zee Cine Awards 2014, one of the most prestigious award shows of India, honoured the best talents of the year 2014.

The night was a starry affair as biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Deeepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar entertained the crowds. The award ceremony was aired on February 23 on Zee TV, but fret not if you missed the show. 

Here is a wrap up of the gala night:

The show was hosted by B-Town buddies Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh who had the audiences in spilts with their wit and humour.

Among the celebrities, who attended the event were Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka Chopra, Genelia D'Souza, Subhash Ghai, Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar to name a few.

The award ceremony kicked off with award for Production Design. The awards were presented by Sonal Chauhan and Fardeen Khan. 

And those took the trophy home were:

Best Production Design: Snigdha Basu, Sumit Basu, Rajnish Hedao for Dhoom 3
Best Debut Director: Ritesh Batra for The Lunchbox
Best Sound Design: Madras Cafe
Best Visual Effects: Red Chillies for Krrish 3 

"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" walked away with most awards by winning five awards including Best Film and Best Director. 

Farhan Akhtar won best actor award for "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", while Divya Dutta won best supporting actress award.

Shah Rukhan and Deepika Padukone's "Chennai Express" won four awards including the best popular film. 

Shah Rukh Khan won best actor (popular) and Deepika Padukone won best actor female (popular) award for "Chennai Express".

Deepika Padukone gets her first award for the 'Most Dhamakedar Performance'

Best Actor In A Negative Role: Supriya Pathak bags it for 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela: RamLeela'. The award was presented by Producer-Director Abbas-Mustan.

Rapper Honey Singh sizzled on the stage with a medley of his songs starting with 'Blue Eyes'.

Farah Khan bagged the first-ever Stree Sanman award for carving a niche for herself in the male-dominated film industry.

Best Background Score: Pritam for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Song of the Year:  Tum Hi ho from Aashiqui 2

International Icon Female: Priyanka Chopra

International Icon Male Award: Honey Singh

Umeed Ka Naya Chehra Award (Male): Vidyut Jamwal.

Best Playback singer (Female):  Shreya Ghoshal for Sunn Raha Hai from Aashiqui 2

Best Playback singer (Male): Arijit Singh for Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2
