After making a splash at Comic-Con last month, the Deadpool trailer has finally been released online.

If you're tired of idealistic superheroes grappling with angst and the weight of the world on their shoulders, Deadpool looks like it'll be a refreshing change. Ryan Reynolds plays mercenary turned anti-hero in this upcoming film.

A Marvel Comics creation, Deadpool is being made by 20th Century Fox. While producer Simon Kinberg confirmed the film will be part of the X-Men universe, we don't know yet if there are chances it'll make it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool's first on-screen appearance was in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine where Ryan Reynolds battled it out against Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. In the film, which hinted at Deadpool's origin, the 'Merc with a Mouth' actually had his mouth sewn shut, giving him no dialogues after his transformation into the deadly assassin.

The upcoming film has done away with this. How else would we enjoy Deadpool's snarky quips?

"Just don’t make my suit green... or animated!”

Watch the green band trailer:

Wait. That's not it. Fox also released a Red Band version (A-rated for us Indians) of the trailer. As exciting as the first trailer is, this is the real thing.

Watch:

The film has been a long time coming. It went into development in 2004 but was picked up by 20th century Fox in 2009. Directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool stars Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein and Brianna Hildebrand.

The film is due for release on February 12, 2016.
