Yami Gautam wants to play Madhubala and Indira Gandhi

Yami Gautam, who will be seen in Sarkar 3 next, is keen to do a biopic. Two personalities she admires are yesteryear actress Madhubala and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She says, “Madhubala is the most beautiful woman I have seen, apart from my mother. Ever since I know what beauty is, I look up to her. I watch her songs on YouTube late night. She was ethereal, she lit up the screen when she came on it. There was something special about her — it’s been decades, she left us at a very early age, yet she has left a mark which is still unattainable and unreachable. That charm, that luminous aura she has on screen, it’s not about make-up, but there is something about her that’s fascinating and I would love to play her.” As for Indira Gandhi, Yami says she has read some biographies on her. “There’s a certain strength that she had, and at the same time there was a vulnerable side to her as well. She has been one of the strongest women our country or maybe the world has ever seen in world politics. Indiraji is an extremely influential and interesting figure from whatever I could get to read about her.”
