Known for his unique take on films, Dibakar Banerjee is gearing up for the grand release of yet another adventurous thriller in the form of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the leading role, the film will introduce the famous sleuth character Byomkesh Bakshy in Bollywood.

Recently at the second trailer launch for the film, Dibakar spoke candidly about DBB and also revealed that he does have plans to make it into a franchise. "Yes I would love to make it into a franchise, but it is too early to talk about it right now. First we are waiting to see how the audiences accept the film on April 3"

He also claims that if the audience's reception is overwhelming enough, DBB will also be India's 'first detective franchise'. "This is a kind of film which has never been made in India, so if people accept this kind of a film, we are all ready to make India’s first detective franchise."

The director seemed confident about his film and has already finalised the script of the next instalment. "I already have the script for the franchise ready, but it all depends on the performance of the first part, as this is the part which establishes the character of Byomkesh Bakshy"
