Actress Reese Witherspoon was taken aback when she was offered to play Madeline in TV series "Big Little Lies".

The 40-year-old actress, who portrays the one of the three women along side Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley in HBO's show, said she was not cut out for the role, reported Variety.

"I was like, 'I am not! You don't know me! I am not like that woman! I don't know if I should be insulted!'" said Witherspoon. But when they started filming on day one, Witherspoon conceded that playing Madeline came naturally to her.

"I got on set in that outfit, and we had to do that long walk, I just started doing it. And I was like, 'Oh, this just feels like a pair of gloves; they just fit perfectly'," said the "Sweet Home Alabama" star.
