Will there be a sequel to ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’?

Tanu Weds Manu had spelled magic at the box office. Result? The makers Eros International has come up with a quirky, slice of life Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which is the ‘perfect sequel’ to the hit film. Why? “When all love stories end with a happy ending, Tanu Weds Manu Returns begins from where the love story ends and the marriage begins and trust me, it’s not always happy,” smiles Krishika Lulla.

After dominating the box office arena in the past two-three months, with films like NH10 and Badlapur up their sleeves, Krishika who has herself produced the riveting Anushka Sharma starrer talks about being associated with another woman centric film. “These are films that I believe in myself. At Eros, we constantly try to push the envelope and try out different avenues and genres. With Tanu Weds Manu Returns, all I can say it’s a perfect family entertainer. More so because it begins exactly from where we ended last time, so in that way it’s the perfect sequel for any Bollywood film. And people will loe Kangana Ranaut. She's spectacular.”

Torn between Anushka and Kangana, Krishika cannot make a choice. “I won’t pick a side because both are my babies. But next year, it will be Anushka and Kangana at the top for all awards.” But the producer has already made plans for her next film. “I have a script ready in place. It will be a dance musical and won’t be another woman centric film,” she smiles.

Before signing off, Krishika drops another happy bomb. Will there be any more sequels to Tanu Weds Manu Returns? “That depends. If TWMR also does well at the box office, we might have another film on Tanu and Manu again. We would love make a third part if we get the right script.”
