Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang has faced a similar fate as Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor starrer Singham Returns at the box office. While both films opened huge, the pace was hindered due to lack of content. But the question is with the current pace of things, will Bang Bang be able to cross Singham Returns?

Well, the answer is still a Maybe. Why? While Singham Returns opened up with a bombastic Rs 30 crore collection, it failed to keep the momentum going in its stride and ended up losing out on the audience in the following weeks. As a result of which, Singham Returns which at one point seemed to have easily crossed the Rs 150 crore mark fell short of it. The lifetime collections for the Rohit Shetty directorial stands at Rs 139.71 crore.

In case of Bang Bang, the film did open to a huge response at the ticket counters, with collections making it Hrithik's biggest opener till date. But slowly, a not so positive word of mouth might have deterred its pace at the box office. As a result of which, the film which looked like a clear Rs 200 crore film failed to rise up to expectations. The film hardly could manage a Rs 115 crore weekend and with a bad second weekend and a poor Monday, the film now stands at Rs 128.50 crore.

In the second week, the film might add in another Rs 5-6 crores and it will only be Bang Bang's performance this weekend which will seal the deal for it. If the film works decently in the third weekend, it might topple Singham Returns. But a further brake on its pace will hinder its chances of even reaching the Rs 140 crore mark.
