Why was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan missing from the ramp?

When the Bachchan family walked the ramp for Shabana Azmi's Mijwan Welfare Society, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was nowhere to be seen.

The theme for the evening was legacy and along with the Bachchan's, there were other prominent names too. Though Aishwarya has always been a part of family appearances, this time she not only wasn't spotted on the ramp, but also gave the show a miss. 

A source reveals, "Everyone was surprised to see Ash missing on the ramp or the audience. Though she wanted to be there to cheer for the family, it wasn't possible for her to attend the show as she was shooting for Jazbaa, her comeback film. Abhishek, Shweta, Jaya and Amitabh were on the ramp and on being asked about Ash, Abhi was spotted telling a few people that his wifey was busy."
