Why are Award functions obsessed with the Khans? Akshay Kumar fans make a strong point!

Akshay Kumar has undoubtedly had one of the best times last year. He had three releases in 2016 and all of them - Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom - entered the Rs 100 crore club. In fact out of the 8 films which crossed the 100 crore mark last year, three belonged to AK. 

Still, he was ignored at this year's Filmfare Awards. Forget an Award, he was not even nominated in the Best Actor category. Fans went ballistic on social media and slammed the group for their royal snub, right after the nomination list was announced.

The Filmfare Awards were conducted on Saturday night and now, Akki fans have sent out a very strong and valid point in the form of a video. The 50 second video talks about how Award functions today are obsessed with the surname and don't value performances anymore. Correct, indeed!
