Where’s Aamir Khan?

Aamir Khan has given the biggest hit ever in Hindi cinema and yet his name doesn’t strangely figure in this year’s 2nd edition of Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 List featuring India’s most powerful celebrities.

While Shah Rukh Khan is again No. 1 in the list, he is followed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Virat Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan in the Top 10 list of celebrities. Says an insider, “Aamir has given the biggest hit ever in Hindi cinema with Dhoom 3 and he doesn’t figure in the Top 10? How is that possible? Maybe it’s because Aamir doesn’t chase after anybody for the No.1 slot but chooses to do his own thing. The fact is Aamir doesn’t care nor does he need to prove anything to anybody. His success track speaks for itself!”

The Celebrity 100 list is arrived at by measuring money (earnings estimates) and fame. The list includes movie actors, television stars, sportspersons, authors, directors, music composers, singers, stand-up comedians and their gross pre-tax earnings are combined with their fame scores to arrive at the Forbes India Celebrity 100 List.
