What made Ranbir Kapoor reject an offer to host Big Boss 8

After the seven successful seasons of Big Boss, a little birdy told us that the producers of Big Boss have approached chocolate boy of Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor to host Big Boss season 8. Every celebrity awaits the opportunity to host a show like Big Boss which appeals to the masses as also the classes. However, Ranbir Kapoor denied the offer of hosting the show. Salman Khan has been hosting the show for the past 4 seasons but has made it very clear that he is not very keen to host the next season as he has faced severe criticism from audience for allegedly favoring some contestants.

Did Ranbir reject the offer as a respect to his senior ; the 'Jai Ho' actor Salman Khan or simply fearing the cold war between him and Salman Khan?

There have already been controversial stories between Salman's ex-lover and Ranbir's current girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Ranbir, rejected the offer to host the show probably just to get away from the negative publicity between him and the senior star. We've heard the producers are now going to approach Ranveer Singh.
