Neerja Bhanot will be smiling wherever she is. 30 years after she gave her life to save as many as 359 passengers on the dreaded Pan Am flight that was hijacked, a film on her struggle and her triumph has now been made. Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja, directed by Ram Madhwani has already cruised past the hit mark at the box office and everyone's smiling.
Bu the biggest surprise was still coming their way. The entire team of Neerja- Sonam, Ram and producer Atul Kasbekar met the Mahrashtra Chief Minister. Devendra Fadnavis has now declared Neerja tax free in the State. MP Poonam Mahajan and CM Fadnavis met the team and after watching the film, decided to award it a tax-free status in Mahrashtra.
Big thank you to MP @poonam_mahajan n the Hon CM @Dev_Fadnavis in declaring #Neerja tax free in Maharashtra.

Quick n decisive decision
Will other States also follow suit? After all, Neerja Bhanot is still the youngest recipient of the Ashok Chakra, India's highest civilian Award for bravery. With this, Maharashtra has paid a nice tribute to the braveheart flight attendant and we hope others to do the same.
