A number of Indians seem to be coming after actor Priyanka Chopra after a scene from her US-based television show Quantico portrays Hindu nationalists in poor light.

Many of the Indians have outraged that Chopra went ahead and shot a scene that they perceive to be ‘anti-India’.

In the show Chopra, who plays Alex Parrish, foils a plot by Indian nationalists who want to carry out a nuclear attack in Manhattan and frame Pakistan. The fictional attack is a ploy to disrupt a summit between the two nations in Jammu and Kashmir.

While the FBI initially thinks it is Pakistan that is behind the plot, Chopra thwarts the plot, identifying the accused as Indian nationalists after discovering rudraksha beads on one of them.

People have taken to Twitter to outrage, with some users even calling for a boycott of the show. Others have hit out directly at Chopra, saying that India gave her a break, and she has betrayed the nation by being part of an ‘anti-India show.’

The storyline has never been a great strength of Quantico. They tried the time-jump technique in the first season to show how Alex Parrish, the character Priyanka Chopra plays, became an FBI agent. The novelty of Bollywood actress being lead in an American show covered up the lack of strength in the story.

The second season was downhill hence the shorter version of the third season and eventual wrap-up. Quantico's ratings were on a downward curve, but it was Indian audience that continued to support PeeCee's show.

But with this latest episode, she seems to have irked Indian tweeters and they are quite vocal about it, even the show is fictional.
