Actor Alec Baldwin has reprised his role as Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live with other members of the cast posing as various world leaders.

While Kate McKinnon appeared as Germany's chancellor, Angela Merkel and Alex Moffat as Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, Kenan Thompson featured as a leader of Zimbabwe.

In the wake of the highly-scrutinised phone call between Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Beck Bennett abandoned his usual avatar of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

SNL also debuted Steve Bannon's character on the show for the first time after it was announced that the Chief Strategist to the US President will be sitting in the meetings of National Security Council along with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the director of national intelligence.

The comedy sketch show likened Bannon to Grim Reaper! Cast member Mikey Day was dressed in the ghoulish costume. He suggested that Baldwin's Trump make all these terrible calls to other world leaders after his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner left White House for Shabbat.

The opening sketch was a comment on the controversial calls Donald Trump made in the last week. It also shone the light on Trump's remarks on the reality show The Apprentice after Arnold Schwarzenegger took over, the statement released on Holocaust Remembrance Day, and a sneaky little German language joke about what would be the title of Trump's memoir if it's called 'My Struggle' in English. The answer would be 'Mein Kampf!'
