Watch: Shraddha Kapoor, Emraan Hashmi set the floor ablaze in 'Dance Basanti' from 'Ungli'

That Shraddha is an adept actress and singeris a well known fact. The latest song, Dance Basanti, which went on air on Tuesday—from Karan Johar's Ungli has introduced Shraddha as the new glamour queen of B-town. It is the first time that the Haider actress has shed her plain Jane avatar to set the dance floor on fire​.

The foot-thumping song features Shraddha opposite Emraan Hashmi grooving to the composition of Sachin Jigar​. Sung by Vishal Dadlani, the lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. According to media reports, Shraddha Kapoor believes that Dance Basanti is a modern day twist from the iconic character of Basanti played by veteran actress Hema Malini in Sholay (1975).

It is also learnt that Karan offered her the glamourous song as he wanted Shraddha to be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. Not just its music, but the choreography by popular duo Bosco-Caesae also holds potential to grab eyeballs.

Directed by Rensil D'Silva and produced by Karan Johar, Ungli—starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam, Angad Bedi and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles—is scheduled to release on November 28 this year.
