When they first watched Iron Man back in 2008, Marvel fans would have never thought that their love for the superhero franchise would burgeon into a full-blown affair with an entire anthology of films spreads across a decade, culminating in films that would be jam packed with the iconic characters from the beloved comic books. But that's where we are. Well, almost.

Marvel Studios has just begun shooting for what promises to be a one-of-a-kind big screen adventure saga, Avengers: Infinity War. On day one of their year-long shoot in Atlanta, Marvel gave us a peek into the sets of the film and what lies in store for fans.

Producer Kevin Feige, whose brainchild the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, says, "Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of the entire MCU as started in May of 2008 with the release of Iron Man. It is an unprecedented culmination of a series of films interlinked together which at the time had never been done before. For us, the most important thing is making it all come together."

One-half of Russo Brothers director duo, Anthony explains why the Avengers were torn apart in Civil War. "The end of that was a set up for what these movies would be. We always had a sense of that,"  says Anthony, adding, "Because of what Marvel has done in the last 10 years, these next two Avengers films will be something no one has ever seen before."

This has all been building upto the Avengers face-off with the villain, Thanos, who is on a mission to collect the six infinity stones to become omnipotent.

"Tony senses this greater threat approaching, so he's doing everything in his power to keep the earth safe," says Joe Russo.

While the next two Avengers movies will not be a two-part story, they will be directly connected to each other. The two movies are being shot together this year. The makers also revealed that the Avengers will meet the Guardians of the Galaxy in Infinity Wars.

If that's not enough, Robert Downey Jr. did a special Facebook live to show us how epic the scale of this film is going to be. Pay particular attention to the cameraman.

Avengers: Infinity War will release on May 4, 2018, followed by an untitled Avengers sequel scheduled to release on May 3, 2019.
