"They like to go for the landmarks", says David Levinson in the new trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence in which the Earth is being turned upside down by the aliens they thought they had defeated 20 years ago.

Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are back to reprise their roles as David Levinson and President Whitmore, respectively. The story of the sequel to Independence Day begins 20 years after the initial attack by the creatures from outer space. And no, there is no Will Smith.

Watch the trailer:

Jake Morrison (Liam Hemsworth), Patricia Whitmore (Maika Monroe) and Dylan Dubrow (Jessie Usher) are the new generation who will fight the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

There are better aliens with better technology and better pop corny-dialogues.

Exhibit:

"Make them pay."
"Not going up there to make friends."

"What goes up, must come down."
"Shouldn't we be nervous?"
"Umm, YEAH"

"I had years to prepare for this. I never had a chance"
"We didn't last time either."

The best one, because the movie is about Independence Day and only Americans celebrate it, no matter that the new army is made with the help of contributions from different nations-

"It's 4th of July, let's show them some fireworks!"

Directed by Roland Emmerich, the film also features Judd Hirsch, Vivica A Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Sela Ward in important roles.

The best part of the movie is the special effects. You should know that by now.

Independence Day: Resurgence is set to release on June 24, 2016.
