The inspiring song comes with its own problems

Singer Katy Perry released the official video for her new single and Olympic anthem 'Rise' before the opening ceremony at Rio. Speculations were being made that the 'Fireworks' singer will sing the song at the ceremony. But they turned out to be false.
The uplifting song sees Perry struggle with a parachute tied to her, trying to make it work in her favour and rise from the ashes of self-doubt.
The lyrics go -
I won’t just survive
Oh, you will see me thrive
Can’t write my story
I’m beyond the archetype
I won’t just conform
No matter how you shake my core
‘Cause my roots they run deep, oh
Oh, ye of so little faith
Don’t doubt it, don’t doubt it
Victory is in my veins
I know it, I know it
And I will not negotiate
I’ll fight it, I’ll fight it
I will transform
When, when the fire’s at my feet again
And the vultures all start circling
They’re whispering, "You’re out of time”
But still I rise
The song has now become a centre of controversy with Nick Jonas' father accusing Perry of stealing the idea of the video from singer Olivia Somerlyn's 2014 song 'Parachute'.
He tweeted,
Love @katyperry new song but the video for #Rise is identical to @oliviasomerlyn #Parachute pic.twitter.com/oRD0irADwV

In 'Parachute', Somerlyn is seen enjoying with a pink parachute instead of struggling and fighting like Perry.
