The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is attracting major attention ahead of its release. The first edition, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, was a major box office smash and critical success. One of the reasons behind its huge triumph was the soundtrack, which saw Chris Pratt's Peter Quill aka Star Lord staying emotionally connected to his mother using a mixtape of old songs. Star Lord will be playing Awesome Mix Vol. 2 this time around, and the filmmakers are getting the fans in India even more excited for the movie with this new promo clip.
UTV Motion Pictures posted a video compilation from the movie synchronised to the Bollywood classic, Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba, from the 1984 film Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki. And we have to say, the video is everything we imagined it to be! It has explosions, dancing, explosions, space fights, explosions and, best of all, baby Groot.
It is believed that the studio bought the rights to the song so there would be no copyright issue, as the song was supposedly perfect for the clip. “Guardians Of The Galaxy are a super-cool set of superheroes, who believe in having a ball as they save the galaxy. As music is a dominant aspect of the movie, we thought it would be a great idea to revive a retro hit dance for the Hindi version. After listening to some popular songs from the 80s, the team unanimously felt Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba echoes the fun spirit associated with the Guardians. The song is about making the best of the moment and enjoying it, just like these superheroes. We hope the mash-up for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 will be enjoyed by existing and innumerable new fans in India,” says Amrita Pandey, Vice President-Studios, Disney India about their choice of the song.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, along with the voice talents of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, will be released in theatres on May 5, 2017.
