Watch 'Gangs of Madras' Teaser: CV Kumar is back as a director in this gangster-action drama

After making his directorial debut with the sci-fi mystery thriller Maayavan, CV Kumar was missing in action for a long time. It was only a few months back when he announced that he was directing his sophomore feature called Gangs of Madras, set in the backdrop of North Chennai. Now, the makers of the film have unveiled the teaser, which looks so bloody good with the reddish cinematography and the grandly composed slo-mo shots. 

The first look teaser of the film was released by Dhanush last month and it received a fairly good response from viewers. Produced by CV Kumar's home banner Thirukumaran Entertainment, Gangs of Madras features Daniel Balaji, Kalaiarasan and Bagavathi Perumal in important roles. Daniel Balaji's last gangster drama Vada Chennai starring Dhanush and helmed by national award-winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran was rapturously received by both critics and common audiences alike. 

Extensively shot in the live locations of North Madras, Gangs of Madras also stars Sai Priyanka Ruth, known for supporting roles in crime thriller Metro and comedy-drama Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal. The teaser also features a riveting background score by debutant Hari Dafusia.

The film is currently in the post-production stage and an official announcement on the release date will be made soon. Meanwhile, CV Kumar's other two productions including 4G starring GV Prakash and Titanic Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum with Kalaiarasan are under various stages of production.
